INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE "AZIKH CAVE AND MIGRATION FLOWS" TO BE HELD IN AZERBAIJAN
On October 1-5 in Gabala will be held an international scientific conference on "Azikh cave in Azerbaijan and migration flows" dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the jaw of an ancient man in the Azikh cave.
The organizers of the event are Presidium of ANAS, the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography and the Association of Cultural Exchange of Azerbaijan and Korea SEBA (Seoul-Baku). The opening ceremony will be held on October 1 at the main building of ANAS, where famous specialists from the period of the Paleolithic period from England, Russia, Georgia and Ukraine will take part. Further the conference will be continued in the city of Gabala.
At the event, discussions will be held on the scientific importance of the found jaw of an ancient man in the Azikh cave, the migration processes of ancient people in Africa and Eurasia, new results of applying modern technologies, etc. Participants will also get acquainted with archaeological research conducted in the Gabala region and visit the Paleolithic camp Garaja in the territory of Mingachevir district.
