The 2nd International Scientific Conference titled “The Turkic World: Shared Historical-Cultural Values, Contemporary Realities, and a Vision for the Future”, dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the historic Victory, has opened under the organization of the Faculty of History of Baku State University (BSU).

The opening speech was delivered by BSU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Huseyn Mammadov. Subsequent speakers included Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Science and Education and Head of the BSU Department of Source Studies, Historiography and Methodology Professor Anar Isgandarov; Head of the BSU Department of General Linguistics, Academician Nizami Jafarov; Vice-Rector of the National Defense University of Azerbaijan Ibrahim Ethem Atnur; and Members of Parliament Jala Aliyeva and Nagif Hamzayev. They emphasized the importance of the conference for Azerbaijan and the broader Turkic world and encouraged students and young researchers to engage actively with the subject.

Director of the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, Corresponding Member of the German Archaeological Institute, Associate Professor Farhad Guliyev, PhD in History, spoke about the importance of cooperation among Turkic world scientific centers in studying Azerbaijani history. He highlighted the growing collaboration among archaeologists and anthropologists of Azerbaijan and other Turkic republics, discussed joint research projects, and outlined shared research themes planned within archaeology and anthropology.

Researchers from the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology are also participating in the conference sessions.
