Online Seminar on Zooarchaeology Held
An online seminar titled “Introduction to Zooarchaeology” was organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The seminar took place via the Google Meet platform with the participation of institute specialists and students from various universities.
The guest speaker was Dr. Gwendoline Maurer, researcher at Cardiff University (United Kingdom, Wales). She delivered a comprehensive presentation covering the fundamental concepts of zooarchaeology, identification of animal remains, methodological approaches, and current research directions in the field.
Participants engaged in scientific discussion and exchange of ideas related to the topics presented. The event provided valuable introductory exposure to zooarchaeology for students and early-career researchers.
The Council of Young Scientists and Specialists plans to continue organizing similar online meetings in the coming months.
